Barry Chuckle - dead
Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear.

This is relevant to West Ham cos I've seen people on here refer to G&S as the chuckle brothers.

RIP

I've just checked and it was the Pingu video game SHE narrated, not the tv show.

Barry to Paul in their beds in the middle of the night:

‘What time is it?’

‘Dunno. Pass me that trombone & I’ll find out.’

*blows trombone loudly*

Someone shouts: ‘WHO’S THAT PLAYING THE TROMBONE AT 2AM?’

Cant say I have really taken much notice of em...but that did genuinley make me "Chuckle"

Anyway RIP Barry

Some people on here analysing the Chuckle brother comedic value?

They made kids laugh for a very long time. You'd have to be rather sad and pathetic to have a pop at them. As harmless and old fashioned as they come.

One of the last remaining Holiday Camp acts that are slowly disappearing from our screens.
Kids love the slapstick humour and stooge type of act, not many of these left now.

Never saw their adult act but apparently they were pretty good and could mix it with some of the best.

Pingu was voiced by three blokes called Carlo, David & Marcello.
Which was the one who was your sexual partner , Alfs?

Iron Duke

Whether you think they were funny or not is neither here nor there, kids found them very funny and watched in great anticipation, getting a 21 years contract on the BBC means they did the trick it cannot be that difficult to equate.

Re: Barry Chuckle - dead
I am not comparing them with Laurel & Hardy that is ridiculous, I am saying that 90% of Laurel & Hardy was childish but ultimately created for adults that is all.

Pingu didn't have a narrator, did it?

mashed in maryland 12:43 Mon Aug 6
Re: Barry Chuckle - dead
Evidently, probably millions of kids laughed at it. And a few adults I'd imagine. It ran for about 20 years with various spin-offs. Harmless slapstick fun.

Never seen Peppa Pig or Spongebob. Wrong generation. I'm sure kids these days probably love them though.

To compare Laurel & Hardy with the Chuckle bros is like comparing Payet with Matt Jarvis.

Mike Oxsaw 8:46 Sun Aug 5

Yes, the one and the same.

Humour is objective but the fact that they were commissioned for 21 series is proof that more found them funny than didn't. It was slapstick humour, which has never been particularly sophisticated.

As for Pingu, I once shagged its narrator and years later would feel a little uncomfortable when my kids watched it.

Re: Barry Chuckle - dead
What is all this? Comparing them to Laurel and Hardy, Norman Wisdom and Tommy Cooper? Be-fucking-have.

They were/are shit, even for kids. I’m not even convinced that anyone actually finds them funny. Spongebob Squarepants is funny. Peppa Pig has its moments. But these lot? Come on, who actually laughs at this?
